How to specify EV charging cable before you ask for a quotation

Cable is not bought by name. Two cables that both read "EV charging cable" can differ by conductor cross-section, jacket compound, temperature rating and certification scope, and those differences decide both the achievable current and the cost.
Start with the current you need to carry and the phase configuration of the charger. That fixes the conductor cross-section. Then decide the installation environment: indoor, outdoor, or continuously flexing. That fixes the jacket compound and the temperature class.
Finally, state the destination market and the certification requirement, because the same construction is documented differently per market. When those four inputs are stated up front, a quotation arrives with fewer rounds of clarification.
